Chia seeds have tremendous amounts of nutrition in a small size. A must for any traveller that needs fuel source that is clean and easy to transport.
Since they have a high fiber content it can give you a full feeling and satisfy the appetite . The insoluble fiber passes quickly through the digestion track and helps to clean out some trash hanging behind. They are great for outdoor activities where you get exposure to Vitamin D. They have 6 times more Calcium than milk and dairy. After meals they seem to provide an added benefit of slowing down sugar spikes.
A very easy way to prepare is to soak them in water for about 15 minutes and create an easy to eat GEL which can been sweetened . Adding to Yogurt is another great suggestion but I’m not a fan of dairy products.
Chia seeds contain high amounts of ALA Omega-3 . The high Omega-3 contain helps to balance the predominate Omega-6 foods that we have all around us. (Breads, etc) . This is a plant based form of Omega-3 vs. Omega-3 from fish.
Chia is definitely in the news lately.
